Our take
A 2002-founded Seattle independent that owns its servers, runs support from the same building, and offers 45 days to change your mind. The catch is the paperwork: its pages disagree about whether renewals match the intro price, and the terms carry a 150,000-inode cap and a 25%-CPU-for-90-seconds rule.

Ultra Web Hosting, beyond the scorecard
Plan details as published on ultrawebhosting.com and its client portal, September 25, 2026 — verify with the vendor before you buy.
Plans, as published
Ultra's shared lineup is three tiers, each advertised at a 3-year rate with a published monthly alternative: Ultra 1x at $3.95/mo (or $6.95 monthly — 1 site), Ultra Unlimited at $6.95/mo ($9.95 monthly — unlimited sites), and Ultra Unlimited Pro at $9.95/mo ($12.95 monthly — unlimited sites, '3x Xeon CPU performance'). Every tier is 50 GB SSD, unlimited email, and a 150,000-inode limit, on cPanel with CloudLinux, Redis and OPcache, daily JetBackup with 30-day retention, Softaculous, and Cloudflare CDN integration. A single WordPress Optimized plan mirrors Pro at $9.95/mo (3-year) or $12.95 monthly.
Beyond shared: a managed KVM VPS at $49.95/mo (1 core, 2 GB, 50 GB SSD, 1 TB transfer, cPanel/WHM — Ultra says it does not offer unmanaged VPS), a managed dedicated server from $222.95/mo, and reseller hosting at $17.95/mo billed annually. Everything runs in Ultra's own Seattle facility on hardware it owns.
The renewal math
This is the one place Ultra's own site does not agree with itself, so we list renewal as not verified. The shared-hosting plan page says, in bold, 'Our renewal prices match our introductory prices, period. The plan you signed up for at $3.95/mo renews at $3.95/mo.' The site-wide header banner — on the homepage, the FAQ, the cart, and the plan page itself — says 'Web hosting as low as $3.95/mo... Renews at $5.95/mo', and a Seattle landing page prints the same '$3.95 billed annually, renews at $5.95' on its pricing card. The service agreement (updated August 5, 2026) has no renewal-price clause either way; it reserves a right to change fees on 30 days' notice.
Our read: the plan page is the newer copy and the banner is probably stale, but we don't publish a renewal figure we can't prove. Ask support which statement is binding, get it in writing, and treat $5.95 as the planning number until then — still a 1.5× step, well under the mega-brands.
Renewal figures come from our Hosting Renewal Price Index — intro vs renewal pricing for every provider we cover, verified on vendor sites and dated.
Choose Ultra Web Hosting if
- US small sites that want an independent, owner-operated host with a long trial window
- Buyers who like a published month-to-month price and no multi-year requirement
- Owners who value on-site support staff in the same building as the servers
Look elsewhere if
- You need a renewal price in writing before you buy — the site contradicts itself
- You run a file-heavy site — 150,000 inodes and 50 GB apply on every tier, and accounts over 5 GB may lose the free backup service
- You want APAC or EU hosting — Seattle is the only location
Migration notes
Inbound: free for cPanel accounts under 1 GB with fewer than 5 databases, and only on annual-or-longer plans; larger sites are quoted a fee first, and monthly-billing customers can buy a one-time migration. Most transfers finish in 1–12 hours per the migration page (24–48 hours per the FAQ). Outbound is standard cPanel. Cancellation is from the client portal, immediate or end-of-term — but note the $20 fee for cancelling a 3-month-or-longer term after a renewal has already billed, and no pro-rata refunds on prepaid fees.
Honest limitations
The 45-day money-back guarantee is shared hosting only: the service agreement excludes VPS, dedicated, reseller, domains, SSL, and setup fees, and starts from the initial signup (never renewals). The 'risk-free 30-day trial' on the homepage has no separate terms anywhere — treat it as marketing for the same guarantee. Fair-use is strict: 25% of system resources for 90 seconds is 'excessive', suspensions for load may carry a $100 administration fee, and traffic beyond a plan's allotment can take a site offline until the next month. Imunify360 is listed on every tier on the features page but only on the Pro card on the plan page. Ultra's trophy case is real but old — the newest named award is 2014 and the page says both '15+' and '20+' — and the 99.9% network SLA's claim window is 30 days in the agreement and 7 days in the knowledge base. None of this is unusual for a small host; all of it is the sort of thing the marketing pages don't mention.
Company facts, folded in from the Ultra Web Hosting review article that now redirects here: the business was founded in 2002 as Flux Services and rebranded in 2005, and lists an address at 12101 Tukwila International Boulevard, Seattle. On the one support ticket we opened, first response came in twelve minutes — a single data point, not a measured average.
Testing status: we haven't load-tested Ultra Web Hosting ourselves yet. This profile is built from vendor documentation, published plan specs and SLAs, and long-running community reports — and the pricing above is verified on the vendor's site, not copied from marketing. See how we test for exactly what that means.
