The renewal math
From our July 2026 pass: the $3.99/mo 36-month intro renews around $9.99/mo (about 2.5×). Shorter terms are worse per month: the 12-month term ran $4.99/mo renewing at $11.99/mo, and month-to-month renews at $15.99/mo. The pattern to notice: the longer you prepay, the lower both the intro and the renewal — Bluehost prices flexibility aggressively.

Migration notes
Inbound: Bluehost's free WordPress migration covers standard sites via plugin; complex or non-WordPress moves have historically been a paid service — confirm what's included before committing. Outbound: cPanel makes leaving straightforward (full backup archives restore cleanly at other cPanel hosts), and the free domain transfers out after the first 60 days per standard registrar rules.
Honest limitations
The checkout and dashboard monetize attention: add-ons are the business model on top of a cheap sticker price, and the renewal jump applies to those add-ons too.
