Open data

# Every dataset we publish, and how it's made

Digital Hosting exists to produce numbers about hosting that don't exist anywhere else: measured by us, dated, repeatable, and published with the method before the result. This page lists all of them, what state each is in, and where to download the data. Everything is CC BY 4.0 — cite the page and use it.

## The rules every dataset follows

- **We collect it ourselves.** Probes, snapshots, and test accounts we operate. No vendor supplies data, and no vendor can pay to be included or excluded.
- **Methodology first.** The method is published before the first result so it cannot be tuned to the outcome. Changes are dated on the methodology page.
- **Deterministic collection, human publication.** Scripts fetch, hash, and diff. Anything that needs judgment lands in a review queue and publishes only after a person approves it.
- **Dated, with evidence.** Every figure carries the date it was observed and, where possible, a screenshot or diff.
- **Honest about gaps.** Providers that block measurement are labelled as such, never scored. Artifacts are excluded and disclosed, not deleted.

### Status-Page Honesty

What each provider's own status page acknowledged, incident by incident, so it can be set against what our probes measured. The gap between the two is the score.

### Support Response Probes

Pre-sales chat tests per provider: time to first response, whether a bot answered first, time to a human, and hours of coverage. Ticket tests follow once the workload-study accounts exist.

### Community Reports

Attributed customer reports from public forums about renewals, billing, downtime, and support, categorised and reviewed before they appear on provider profiles or in the renewal complaint index.

## Using the data

All datasets are licensed CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Attribution: "Digital Hosting open data — digitalhosting.com/open-data" with the dataset name and the date you retrieved it. JSON endpoints return the most recent rows first and carry a `Cache-Control` header of one hour. For bulk history or a question about method, use the contact page (https://digitalhosting.com/contact).
