# Migadu Review

Migadu is a small Swiss email host with a pricing model almost nobody else uses: you pay for capacity and volume, never for mailboxes or domains. That inversion makes it either the best deal in email hosting or a frustrating mismatch, depending entirely on how you use email. Prices below were verified in July 2026.

Summary verdict

## Verdict

Migadu is the best value in email hosting for receiving-heavy use across multiple domains: $19/yr Micro buys unlimited domains and unlimited addresses against 5 GB of pooled storage and a 20-outbound-messages-a-day cap. Respect that cap and it's superb. Outgrow it and the $90/yr Mini — or MXroute's $59/yr plan — is the honest next step.

## What Migadu does well

The pricing model is the product. Micro at $19/yr, Mini at $90/yr, Standard at $290/yr — every tier includes unlimited domains and unlimited addresses, so adding your fifth domain or fiftieth alias costs nothing. For anyone who's paid per-mailbox prices elsewhere, this is structurally different, not just cheaper.

Transparency is unusual and welcome: the pricing page reads like a terms sheet, publishing storage, message-volume expectations, and exactly what each tier tolerates. We trust vendors more, not less, when they document their limits this precisely.

The fundamentals are correct: full IMAP access, proper SPF, DKIM, and DMARC support, catch-alls, aliases, and wildcard addresses — the plumbing a multi-domain setup actually needs.

## Where it falls short

The outbound caps are hard limits, not suggestions. Micro's 20 messages a day is fine for personal correspondence and role accounts, and wrong for a working business inbox. Migadu says this themselves; believe them.

The webmail is functional rather than pleasant, and there are no native mobile apps — you connect a standard IMAP client. If the client experience matters to you, Fastmail is the better-fit per-seat alternative.

Support is deliberately self-serve for the cheap tiers. Good documentation covers most of it, but this is not the host for teams that expect same-day human replies.

### Best fit for

- + Owners with several domains who want every address in one place
- + Receiving-heavy use: personal mail, registrations, role accounts
- + People who read pricing pages and want vendors who publish limits

### Consider another option if

- − Your daily outbound volume is real — Micro's 20-messages-a-day cap is enforced
- − You want polished native apps — Migadu is standards-first (IMAP), webmail-plain
- − You need hand-holding support with fast SLAs

Questions readers ask

## FAQ

Yes, within its published limits: 5 GB pooled storage and 20 outbound messages a day (verified July 2026). For receiving-heavy use across several domains it's the best value in email hosting. For a business inbox with real sending volume, budget for Mini at $90/yr or MXroute at $59/yr.
